But the analysis of production facilities proved that assembling the houseboats in Russia is 70% cheaper, so the manufacturing facilities were moved to the Moscow region, to the Khlebnikovskiy shipyard.
Additional savings and assembly speed are due to the use of ready-made energy efficient panels. They allow assembling the structure directly at the customer’s site. This requires a little bit of land by the water, compared to the size of the houseboat itself. The assembly of one houseboat on a special slipway by several people will take about a month.
The houseboat is legally considered a small vessel, so it can move freely around the water area. The speed of such a houseboat is comparable to a barge and is about 8-15 km/hour. The cruising range at one filling is up to 1200 km. For example, during the season, the houseboat can comfortably get you to Zavidovo in the Tver region or to Astrakhan.
Houseboats up to 20 meters in length are registered with the State Inspection for Small Vessels (GIMS) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia as a small vessel. The owner gets a vessel certificate and will only need to pay the transport tax. It will be calculated based on the volume of the floating house (1 register ton= 2.83 cubic meters).
No special permits are required for mooring (same as for the floating landing stage). As a small vessel, a houseboat can dock anywhere where it is allowed and where it does not interfere with navigation. If desired, the floating house can be moored outside the marinas completely free of charge.
If you decide to stay in yacht clubs, you will have to pay for the place and the use of their infrastructure. About 35 yacht clubs are now ready to welcome motorized houseboats. The average cost for these services is 35 thousand rubles per month.
According to stroi.mos.ru, the press relations service of the Moscow Canal, the project is aimed not only at the sale of private houses. It can also be viewed as an investment project. In houseboats, used as floating hotels and apart-hotels, the residents and the guests of the capital can take a break from the bustle of the city and spend several days in nature or on a river trip.
It bears reminding that in 2020 it is planned to launch a water transport in Moscow. The pilot route will go along the Moskva River from the Kievsky railway station to Nizhniye Mnevniki and will connect four city districts.
It will connect the Moscow City business center, the city parks and the Kievsky railway station. There will be seven stops on the way: Kievsky railway station, Krasnaya Presnya, Taras Shevchenko Embankment, West Port, Heart of the Capital, Verkhniye Mnevniki, and Nizhnie Mnevniki.
The 10 km route will connect four districts of the capital – Khoroshevo-Mnevniki, Filevsky Park, Presnensky district and Dorogomilovo.
The vessels will have a carrying capacity of 100 people, which means 1.5 thousand passengers per hour. The travel time in both directions will take 104 minutes.
