Living in a house by the water with a beautiful view, isn’t it a dream many of us cherish? But there is a small hiccup – the land by the water is expensive and scarce. Therefore, the housing issue is often solved by having an apartment in the city, a summer residence in the country, and if you are lucky, a yacht on the water. But managing all this property might appear inconvenient, and the maintenance costs can be quite considerable. But there is a solution – a houseboat! Now available in Russia.
WATCH THE VIDEOA houseboat is a motorized house on water with autonomous life-support systems suitable for all-year-round dwelling. During the week, for example, it can be moored in the city and serve as an apartment, and on weekends it can turn into a country house or a river yacht with the possibility to fish straight from the living-room! The houseboat can be moored in the marines, as it only needs power connection. Also, it can move at a speed of 10-15 km/h for up to 1500 km. The twin-hull body of the houseboat is designed so that it can withstand freezing into the ice. The living area was created in accordance with the concept of energy efficient (or passive) house for the first time in the history of houseboats. This reduces the maintenance cost and increases the comfort. Houseboats can be ordered of various design and configuration depending on the personal preferences.

First, the houseboat has 2-3 times more living space. It is almost twice wider than a motor yacht similar in length. Therefore, the houseboat has full-size rooms with the height of 2.5 meters instead of tiny cabins with a low ceiling, full size toilet facilities instead of marine toilets, etc. Secondly, the houseboats are less expensive than the yachts of the same length. The secret is that the floating part of the houseboat is designed according to the shipbuilding regulations, and the above-water part is designed according to the housing construction principles which makes it less expensive.

Our houseboats are the most comfortable and reliable on the market because it was part of the company’s original concept from the very beginning. Therefore, our products are slightly more expensive than the houseboats of other manufacturers.
Our houseboats are considerably more stable, and they practically do not rock on the waves from the boats passing by. That is a very important advantage when you live in a houseboat, don’t you think?
The cost of living in our houseboats is much lower than that for the similar vessels, as they were originally designed to be energy efficient.
You can moor the houseboat at any marina by concluding a contract with it. For example, there are about 30 marinas in Moscow and the region. In addition, our company is planning to commission its own villages on the water for houseboats in Moscow and the Moscow region.
On the average, the maintenance will cost about 30-40 thousand rubles per month. This amount includes staying at the marina, connection to power (with no meter, which is a nice benefit), connection to water supply, and security services. The maintenance of engineering systems costs about 15-20 thousand rubles per year. It is similar to a country cottage: you can maintain the house by yourself or hire a company to do that. Our company offers maintenance services, too.
No permits or fees are required to navigate the inland waterways and locks. To operate a houseboat, you need to have a boat driving license from the State Inspection of Small Vessels, which is quite easy to get, or you can hire a captain for occasional trips.
A houseboat of up to 20 meters long is a small vessel and is a means of transport. The tax depends on the motor power, the same as for a car. For example, for 150 HP the tax will amount to 15,000 rubles/year. The houseboat should be registered in the State Inspection of Small Vessels. The proof of ownership is a vessel certificate. Part-ownership, loan or leasing can be arranged.
Houseboats are usually built for calm river/lake waters. But you can also order a sea version of a houseboat. It will cost at least a quarter more.
The high-tech materials from which the houseboat is made make it unsinkable. And the marina security will protect the houseboats from for the risks of burglary and vandalism.
